Brand Bengaluru is a vision of the Government of Karnataka to work on decongesting Bengaluru and help the city become greener and sustainable. It also aims at creating a better quality of life and a greener Bengaluru for the citizens, while protecting the environment is the goal.
INTERSCHOOL CHALLENGE
Ideathon ‘23 is an INTERSCHOOL student innovation initiative by Ms. Aisshwarya DKS Hegde, a young and charismatic educator from Bengaluru. Her vision is to involve school students in providing solutions to the problems and challenges of the city. A unique way of involving the students in ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP.
OBJECTIVE OF IDEATHON ‘23.
The objective of creating an INTERSCHOOL IDEATHON and YOUTH LEADERSHIP SUMMIT is to encourage creative problem solving and active citizenship among schools of Bengaluru. It’s imperative that we identify student ambassadors in schools and colleges who will help build awareness on Bengaluru and help the city progress. Our students are the future, and we have to involve them in shaping the future of their city.
WHO CAN TAKE PART?
WHAT’S THE CHALLENGE ABOUT?
Schools that register will be sent a detailed brief about the challenge.
The participating students will choose the problem area/topic from a list
that will be provided or of their own choice and develop a solution for the
same.

Each team will make a pitch in Round 1 as detailed in the format
section. Round 2 & 3 will be in person rounds.
FORMAT OF THE IDEATHON ‘23 – INTERSCHOOL CHALLENGE
Each school team will submit a THREE MINUTE video introducing themselves & their solution. Top 25 schools will qualify to the Semi Final after screening of ideas by a panel of judges.
Top 25 schools from Round 1 will be invited to make a presentation on their idea along with an execution plan to a set of jury members. The top 7 schools will qualify to the Grand Finale.
Top 7 schools from Round 2 will be invited to make a presentation on their idea along with an execution plan at the YOUTH LEADERSHIP SUMMIT to be held in January 2024.
SUMMARY OF IDEATHON
We had an overwhelming response from schools and pre-university colleges from Bengaluru participating in the Ideathon’23 this year. From the schools who submitted their responses, the top 50 ideas were shortlisted, and in the next round, the top 25 schools got qualified after the screening of their ideas. During the third round, the students made a ten-minute presentation of their ideas along with their execution plan to a set of jury members. Top 7 teams from them were selected for the grand finale, who got the unique opportunity to be mentored by senior executives and to present their ideas at the grand stage of the Brand Bengaluru - Youth Leadership Summit. The top 2 teams won themselves the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program for Young Leaders by the Harvard Student Agencies (HSA) and one idea from the top 7 was adopted for implementation by Ms. Aisshwarya DKS Hegde.

- Start the video by introducing yourself with your name, your class, your school name and branch, if any.
- Your entry should be in a video format (Mp4). The video should be within 3 minutes of duration, in English or Kannada.
- The 3-minute video can feature both the team members or one of you. The main crux of the idea must be explained clearly in the video.
- Selection for the next round will be done based on criteria such as – thought process, practicality of the idea, presentation, communication skills and clarity of thought.
- If you are selected for the next round, you will be informed via email (on the email ID provided by you during registration)

Ideathon 2023 and The YOUTH LEADERSHIP SUMMIT 2023 (YLS 2023) is scheduled to be held between December 2023 and January 2024. It is a pioneering effort to bring in eminent personalities and achievers to share their experiences, inspire and motivate the participating students. The objective of YLS 2023 is to motivate the students strive for excellence and to be solution-oriented citizens.
Ideathon 2023 and YLS 2023 will be conducted with the support of Greycaps Knowledge Tribe, spearheaded by noted quizmaster and educator Giri Pickbrain Balasubramaniam.
